My Heart is a Chapel
My heart is a chapel
And the Lord is always there
When I walk He walks beside me
My thoughts are his to share.
My cupboard may be empty
But my heart is never bare
For my heart is a chapel
And the Lord is always there
Well my heart is a chapel
And the Lord is always there.
Each day to me is Sunday
Each day I say a prayer.
That’s when I count my blessings
I find them everywhere
For my heart is a chapel
And the Lord is always there -
If You Know The Lord
If you know the Lord you need nobody else
To see you through the darkest night.
You can walk alone you only need the Lord
He’ll keep you on the road marked right
Take time to pray everyday
And when you’re headin’ home
He’ll show you the way
If you know the Lord you need nobody else
To see the light His wonderful light -
Climbing Higher and Higher
(verse 1)
Once I was sinking in sin
My soul was troubled within.
A ladder was sent down from heaven
After my sins were forgiven.
Started out for higher ground
To climb the ladder round by round.
Well I’m climbing higher and higher
And I won’t come down
(verse 2)
First round was regeneration.
The second round justification.
The third a happy confession
Then the Holy Ghost took possession.
The next round was great tribulation
That led your soul to glorification.
Well I’m climbing higher and higher
And I won’t come down.
I’m gonna climb till I pass
The sun, moon and stars
Jupiter, Venus, Neptune and Mars.
Bid farewell to this old house of clay
And then I’ll go a runnin’
Up the milky white way
First heaven … I’m climbing round by round
Second heaven … I’m so high I’ll never come down
Oh Lordy … Still climbing round by round
I’m climbing for higher ground.
I’m gonna climb till I pass
The sun, moon and stars
Jupiter, Venus, Neptune and Mars.
Bid farewell to this old house of clay
And then I’ll go a runnin’
Up the milky white way
First heaven … I’m climbing round by round
Second heaven … I’m so high I’ll never come down
Whooo … still climbing round by round
Climbing for higher ground. -
I Know The Lord
I know the Lord (I know my blessed Lord)
My King (My Lord and King for he)
Fill my soul with heaven and love
In true accord (in true accord with Him)
I sing (because true joy has been given)
Unto my poor dying soul
Though others may come (my friends may come and go)
And go (they change from friend to foe)
Christ my Lord will never leave me
For he loves me so
I know the Lord (I know my blessed Lord)
And I’ll (while I am in this world)
Ever His name extol
What a wonderful thought (wonderful thought)
That I know my blessed Lord
And that I am acquainted (He is my friend)
And I love His holy word
What His knowledge has brought (what He has brought)
Cannot be told by man (by mortal man)
Well I know my dear Lord (my Savior, my dearest friend)
And He is now my friend (my dearest friend) -
Swinging on the Golden Gate
(verse 1)
Don’t cha know
That I met my mother this morning
She was climbing up the hill so slowly
Don’t cha know she was trying to get
To heaven in due time
Just before that heaven door closed.
Knock Knock Knock Knock
Where ya goin’ mama
Tell me where ya going I said
She said I’m on my way to glory and
I’ll meet you resurrection day
Then I heard her say wake me shake me
Don’t you let me sleep too late
Wake up judgment morning
Swingin’ on the golden gate.
Don’t cha know we’re gonna
Wake up wake up swing on the golden gate
(verse 2)
(same as verse 1 except [father])
(verse 3)
Don’t cha know
That I met my sister about twelve o’clock
She said brother I ain’t got time to stop
I’m on my way to heaven to sing and shout
There’ll be nobody there to turn me out
She said wake me in the morning
Wake me in the morning
Wake me in the morning and let me
Swing on the golden gate
We’re gonna swing on the golden gate
(repeat 4 times)
We’re gonna wake up on judgment mornin’
And swing on the golden gate -
The Old-Fashioned Meeting
(verse 1)
Oh how well do I remember
In the old fashioned days
The old fashioned people
They had some old fashioned ways
In those old fashioned meetings
As they tarried there
In an old fashioned manner
How God answered their prayer
(chorus)
Twas an old fashioned meeing
In an old fashioned place
Where some old fashioned people
Had some old fashioned grace
As an old fashioned sinner I began to pray
And God heard me and saved me
In an old fashioned way
(verse 2)
They were singing songs o f praise
Amazing grace how sweet the sound
And the old account was settled
And my name was written down
I was saying yes to Jesus when the fire fell that day
And God he heard me and he saved me in the old fashioned way -
There's a God Somewhere
Each day the sun comes out to shine
The stars and moon they leave on time
The winds they blow we listeth where
We breathe the living air
The flowers grow and do not toil
They do not spin or work at all
The birds they live and get their care
So there must be a God somewhere
(chorus)
Well there’s a God somewhere
There’s a God somewhere
He helps me when my load is hard to bear
When I rise from dark despair and
Surmount my every care
My heard tells me surly there is a God somewhere -
Lead Me, Guide Me
I am weak and I need thy strength and power
To guide me over my way, way this hour
Lead me through the dark valleys
And or my way
Oh lead me oh Lord lead me
Lead me guide me, along the way
Lord if you lead me I will not stray
Lord let me walk, with thee
Lead me oh Lord, lead me. -
Walk With Me
Walk with me walk with me
Lest mine eyes no longer see
All the glory all the story of Your love.
Talk to me talk to me like You spoke so tenderly
When You walked there
When You talked there by the sea.
(chorus)
Let me follow in the footsteps
That trod the shore of Galilee.
And let me learn to pray like He prayed
In the garden of Gethsemane
Take my hand, take my hand
Teach me Lord to understand
All the duty all the beauty of Your love -

Oh! What a Time
Words and Music by:
Lucy Collier Matthews
Oh my Lord, what a time, mm-hum
Oh my Lord, what a time
From this old world we'll flee
To live eternally
Oh my Lord, what a time
(Repeat 2 times)
In that fair land there will be no more night
No sun or moon, for the Lamb of God is light
It's good to know that he's prepared the way
To a bright and endless day
From this old world (from this old world we'll flee)
We're gonna live (to live eternally)
With Christ (with Christ our blessed Lord)
In a home on high (in a heavenly home on high)
We'll shout (we'll shout), And sing (and sing)
We'll walk (we'll walk), And talk (and talk)
We'll shout (we'll shout), And sing (and sing)
We'll walk (we'll walk), And talk (and talk)
We'll shout (we'll shout), And praise His name
Every day (every day will be the same)
Oh my Lord, My burden bearer
My help in trouble, My joy in sorrow
My light in darkness, My sword and shield
Oh my Lord, what a time
(Repeat chorus 3 times)
